Hey,
I purchased a 1992 Honda Accord about 6 months ago. I'm almost positive it has a stock engine and transmission. Its have a slight idle issue after it warms up. It also will surge/lurch a bit while holding a steady speed. I got a code of 8 short flashes when doing the ob1 diagnostic, but I'm a newer do it yourselfer and am not entirely sure which code that is. I did clean out the throttle body really well, it was super dirty.

 

8 short flashes is for the TDC sensor which usually means replace the distributor

 

Is there anything you know of I can try before purchasing a new distributor?

 

You can try to make sure you have continuity on the 2 wires for the TDC sensor.
