Post ThaBooner from Houston

YwHey there.. Just an ole country boy born in raised in Texas. Just got my second
Honda, in my driving career. I had to get away from the Camaros and their gas mileage. That and they are a pain to work on and can dig into the pockets a bit at the parts stores.
I now have a 2005 Honda Accord 2.4l 4cyl Manual 2 dr. Loveing the car so far. Had a issue yesterday morning. It was about 45 deg. Let the car warm up a bit, switched the heater on... An Cold air all the way to work. (30 min) first thought was heater core.. But when I got off.. I fired it up, and heater worked fine.
Also.. At every start up, the motor turns over 3 or 4 times before it fires up. Not sure if that is a typical Honda thing or not. I have not yet had the battery checked out nor do I know when the last tune up was done on the car. I think my old hatch back used to do that too, but I'm not sure because that was 10 years ago.
I am kind of a "shad tree mechanic" not a full blown mechanic.. But I don't see myself as just a parts changer, do it yourselfer, call it what ya will. I have read many threads on this sight for info on my ride already. Hopeing to install the IPod/mp3 jack that I read about and I would like to know if there is an exhaust I can put on a 4cyl WITHOUT making my car sound like a pissed off bumble Bee.
I do want to add cold air intake.. And any other ideas without tearing to far into the car.
Thanks for your time and looking forward to communicating with everyone.
Thank Y'all
-Keith-

Yes, welcome to HAF.

For the heat...I'll post a bit here. For more, start a thread in General Tech.

Of course check the coolant level if you haven't already. I'd also check for any stored codes in the HVAC unit.
