A theory of operation chapter,
often found in documentation or manuals, provides a detailed explanation of how a device or system is intended to function. It's essentially a description of the science and processes behind the device's operation. This information can be valuable for troubleshooting, understanding maintenance procedures, and for users to grasp how the device works.
The reason i posted this is many years ago i had to attend classes on how things work. I was issued a normal tech manual except it had - theory of operation- that explained how all the electronics worked together.
The normal book each tech recieved that did not get to go to the (usually 1 week class) was identical except the "theory of operation" chapter was left out. All the diagrams, mostly electrical were all there. I always felt the theory of operation chapter was the most helpful.
