Hello all,

New guy here, 99 Accord EX automatic 232,xxx miles on the 3.0 Vtec. The car runs like a champ but like many others the trans is an issue and is on it's third one. I'd like to convert it to a 5 speed but have no concept of how costly it would be. Obviously I know that that I would have to change the pedal assembly and the ECU but have no idea what else is involved. If anyone has done it I'd love to hear about it. The car isn't my daily anymore so now I have the chance to play with it a bit and am really enjoying reading about other members cars. I am getting lots of ideas from all of you!

This forum is for introductions & welcome. I'd go to the other boards here with your real questions. I'm pretty sure there's a thread or 12 on manual-trans swaps over in the "Engine & Internal" board. Read up & then probably your questions can be more focused.

Accord V-6 was never offered with a manual trans until 2003, so you're gonna look for some Acura trans, maybe a whole engine/trans swap??

Read post number 5. That will give you an idea on how much and most of the parts that are needed. Granted that is for a 4cyl not a v6 but it will give you idea of the headache it will cause. Not saying it's not worth it but it's a good bit of work

Thanks for all the input and the welcome! I'm still feeling my way around the board and checking everything out. So far I'm really impressed with all of the resources here and the wealth of knowledge. Going forward I will make sure to post my questions on the right boards too .

My Accord is a high mileage car but I really love it and since it's not my daily anymore I want to have some fun with it! Thanks again for a trerrific resource for Accord owners!!
