Anyone ever use an electric supercharger ?
Hows it going folks ? Just wanted to know if any one has ever tried, heard, or currently have an electric supercharger installed on their car. I took a look at electricchargers.com the sight is well organized and legit and has a dyno chart proving h.p and torque gains on a 92' B16A honda motor (civic) I also got an email reply from a rep stating that average users have experienced up to 23 hp gain. What do you guys think about electric superchargers ? it is a good alternative and probably a bit more safe in some aspect. If you ever used one or are running it now have you noticed any difference ?

I have never had one but I too was tempted at first. To actually get real hp out of that you actually have to pressurize the intake. That little electric motor won't do that. There have been electric superchargers that actually do create boost but they require heavy electrical support. I would save the $100 and put it towards something that will truly work. Do a search on this sight and you can find some more info and feedback about what people have said.
If you really want to try it, build your own. Its easy and its been down with a marine type fan. Plus, it will only cost around $20.
$20 or $200, save your dough.

theres only a hand full of electric superchargers that even work, and those cost over 400 dollars, anything else doesnt flow enough air and causes more restriction so i wouldnt aim to use them without seeing physical proof

I saw a guy with a Dodge Intrepid Get 5 extra horsepower on a dyno with one of those, it was one of the more expensive ones, I know that much.. it ended up wearing out after a month... It's really not worth it in my opinion. Any "good" electric supercharger is going to create more draw on an alternator or battery and cause you to lose power that way anyways..
