Turbocharger install?
I am planning to buy a complete turbo kit for my 99 accord. Ineed to know if I should let my local mechanic do the install or should I take it to a shopthat specializes in things like that? Also, is it completely necessary to run my car on a dyno to tune the turbo or can I get by without doing that?I know the basics of turbos but i'm certainly not a proffesional tech guy. Please help!!!
i would take it to a proffessnal, i dont really truest the local area guys, but thats just me. You either see me aat the honda dealer or profess places. A turbo in that car would be awsome iam assuming you have the f23A1 engine in there. You shouldnt boost more then 8psi with stock internals. Anyway thats a sweet ride in your picture is that a 6th accord coupe, i have one two, i cant get over the way those cars look. Love the backlights. Anyway good luck dude.
oh yeah almost forgot about the dyno, its not competley nesscary, but people do it so they can get the correct fuel to air ratio in there cars for top notch perfomace.

First of all, nice looking car, j_man. Very clean.
Second, you can probably piece together a complete turbo for less than a kit, just do a search over the forums and somewhere there is a thread that lists everything you need to get for a turbo setup.

Thanks for the comments on my ride. I really appreciate the positive feedback because I have put my life earnings into it and I'm glad to know that I'm not spending my money for nothing. Nowhere near finished though. I just recently switched to the TYC lights myself! I had some of the chrome ones but I switched. I'm getting the trim pieces that come with the lights painted as we speak. Thanks again.
