The 8th digit over is a 3. I do now have an Ingen Technology RD cold air intake and flomaster exhasust and i love the way they sound together but anyway... With a turbo, am i gonna have to get turbo head gaskets or any special stuff that may not come in the kit to prevent problems in the future?

a turbo itself needs far more than just the turbo to make it useful...

Right. Things like intercooler, upgraded fuel components, upgraded ignition components, stronger internals to take the wear and tear of all the extra pressure, ect... I was just wonderin if i needed to get any special gaskets, seals, or things of that nature that may not come in a kit.

Stock Honda gaskets are fairly efficient for low boost. There are performance gaskets out there if you want one or if you want to lower the compression a little.

If you're gonna push that must boost you are basically going to have to build a completely new motor (unless you only need it to last
one full throttle run).
Your rings aren't gonna hold under that much boost so they'll have to be replaced. If you replace rings you need to have the cylinders
machined. New rings in a glazed cylinder won't break in and it'll burn oil like no other, not to mention poor compression.
You'll need dished pistons to reduce compression, plus new heads with bigger combusion chambers to reduce it further. If you run 15psi
boost that basically doubles compression, so you'll need to be down at 5:1 static to run pump gas.
You'll probably want a closer ratio of exhaust valve to intake valve size with that much boost too, and more exhaust duration.
If you don't intercool a 15-20psi charge it is a waste of time, so you'll need that too.
The crank and rods will have to go.
Plus all the little stuff like injectors and intake and whatnot.

Basically you're gonna have to build a completely new engine from a bare block to do this.
I'd consider this expert level work.

Okay, I really wanna turbo it. it's an auto but i sill wanna do it cuz i heard that forced autos can be quicker than boosted sticks. i don't have much money now and wont at least till summer. should i buy a kit or should i buy a turbo i want and custom pipe it. i also heard that people are taken turbo set ups from eclipses in salvage yards. Is that worth doing, what kinda power could you expect from doin that and how easy of an install is it?

turbos are not easy...if you have been following the turbo help post its pretty easy to see how many little things can make a big difference.. and mbo is obviously a great mechanic. i also think your eyes are getting a little bit bigger than your stomach right now.. you should keep it realistic. you not going to have 5-8 thousand dollars and another car to drive around for 3-4 months anytime soon right? have you ever been in a 200 hp turbocharged honda? its seriously a mean bitch your adrenaline just skyrockets as soon as the turbo spools. there is a list of everything you need to turbo your honda in the turbo help post. and it should cost you anywhere from 600-1400 dollars, and if you get all that stuff you can even take it to a shop and they should be able to install it in about 10 hours....and they will charge you 70 or 80 dollars an hour. so i mean a couple g's or less and you have a real live turbo. the turbo off a 2g eclipse is good for about 275 hp, and your motor can easily hold 200-225 with your tranny. i would seriously recommend parts off eclipse's because they are cost efficient. i seriously want to see more people like mbo who are actually doing the real thing and not just dreaming...yea everyone wants to have a 400 hp car, but when cost and time IS a factor it can completely stop you from doing a hellava good project like this if your head is in the clouds. you should be looking for the first piece to the puzzle right NOW. with your next couple of paychecks get a turbo for 200 bucks or 100 bucks. once you buy it....you have a turbo, the momentum is started......your going in a great direction at that point..then.....get an fmu....80 bucks....manifold.... intercooler...external wastegate if you going to use one... syanpse....emanage....**** even those 5 check valves if you want to go ghetto.. pile up the parts...and then you can decide whetheror not your able to do the install, or your going to have someone else do it. there are obviously alot of people on here that know a LOT about turbo and i would also be happy to help

Lightshow has got it right. Keep your goals realistic. Why not piece together a kit that will give you flexibility down the road to really turn up the boost, while in the meantime, will still give your car some mean boost.

And trust me, 8 psi in your f22b2 (same motor as I have. I freshly turbo'ed mine) is going to slam you back in your seat and bring a childish smile to your face. When i hit the boost i feel like i'm in my friend's mustang GT.

There's nothing wrong with shooting for 300 hp (that's my goal too), but why not start off small first. And while you run 8 psi, you can be building a turbo f22b2 motor so you can really turn up the boost. The f22b2 (your car's motor) can be had for cheap compared to the H series.

I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but your auto tranny will need a look at too before you put 300 ponies to it.
