1/4 mile track times
i'm taking my car to the sacramento raceway this wednesday, because i'm curious on my time, i was doing a lil research, and a 6th gen accord's time is 16.1 does anyone have any speculation on that? so i know what i should be running, if i drive my car right, haha
oh, and for everone else, what's your guys best time?

RE: 1/4 mile track times
If the car was rated by a professional at 16.1 then with oversized rims and no mods I'd be curious to see if you could even break 17. I would strongly advise you to remove your spare tire, jack and ANYTHING that's not bolted down prior to your run to drop some weight.
As for my best time I couldn't tell you, I don't run 1/4 mile races, well I guess I don't really race at all anymore.... I used to run oval track and Auto X but since getting a family I just work.

wow im dumb. i need to learn to read better. lol.
if you have a laptop with a serial port, buy an OBDII cord that can plug into your computer (via the RS232 connector) and get some software to measure 1/4 mile and LAP times via OBDII. (on the streets btw)
that way you can see what method of speeding up your car is the most effective, fastest way/time to shift, etc.
there is some OK free software out there but usually its console based and for linux operating systems, so if you want to use windows to montor car data via OBDII your guna have to buy some software.
you can buy cables that plug your car into your computer for about $12 off ebay tho, and if you use linux + a laptop you can get lap times pretty easily on an abandoned stretch of road.
experiment with different ways to increase your speed.
for $12, you cant beat the price!
