Yep this is the problem that I have with them. I am scared to death of those CVT's. Do some Googling and youll find endless accounts of horror stories of these things crapping out all the time. I was very close to buying a Nissan Altima but after some lurking around on the Altima forums, I decided against it. Pretty much everybody had their tranny go out in the 50,000 mile range. We travel to Ohio (8 hours) to visit the wife's family, Texas (15 hours) to visit mine and Im always taking road trips of 2-3 hours for my car stereo competitions. Even tho Nissan has a 120,000 mile replacement warranty on their CVT's, that wouldnt make me feel any better stuck on the side of the road in Toomsuba, Mississippi on Day 1 of our vacation.

Now Honda has adopted them for some crazy reason. Yes they offer a manual but good luck finding one. I have 3 dealerships in my area with over 200 Accords and only ONE manual and its on a stripped down LX.

Im glad I just bought this 2012 so I should be good for several years but Id be ticked if I was in the market for a 2013. Yeah I could always buy a V6 but the I4's are thousands less and get much better mileage.

I got the automatic. Glad the '13 EX-L V6 has no CVT since I do ALOT of travelling when I go on business trips. When I make hard turns the car does not have that jelly feeling at all. I've rode in a 2012 Acura TL and the handling of the '13 Accord is VERY similiar to the handling of the TL. I am very satisfied with the trade off. One thing I do like is that the car feels lowered to me seeing that when I drove my '12 Accord EX-L V6, I felt like I was sitting on a booster seat. The leather bucket seats make a big difference compared to the regular leather seats the '12 had. One other thing is that the road noise had quieted down ALOT. I'll be taking pictures soon to post once I get time to clean the car.

I just posted some pics of my car in the new members area if anyone is curious to see it out in the wild and not on a brochure or review page.
