8th Gen Discussion

Leave your thoughts about the 8th gen Accord. Available in 2008 as a 2009 model.

Look at the size of the disc brakes! Holy mother....

http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...20111421-E.jpg
Boo....Civic-like headlights. If they're gonna stick with these ugly things....make them projector headlights with halos.

http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...20111422-E.jpg
Direct Euro-rip...how disappointing. Kinda of a cross between a Celica, 350z, and any European automobile.

Aggressive styling = CHECK.

Nice flowing style/lines. Notice the exhaust molded within the bumper. Great touch for concept...not production. The trunk lid worries me...but remnants of the "Bungle" butt remain?

Looks a tad too long...shorten up the wheelbase...and its absolutely bloody perfect.

Supposedly Honda is going to unveil an i-VTEC V6 motor...standard. Or have their ultra secret weapon available as an option. It's some dual force motor that produces 300+ horses....pretty beastly. Prices range from 16xxx to 30xxx.

How close has Honda stayed to the concept in the past?

Very aggressive looking. It reminds me a bit of the 350Z.

This was how it turned out.

Honda is pretty good to "sticking to the course"

I would agree then.

The front end looks kind of 'scion' ish.

i kinda dig the front end, it stops a little to abruptly thou. I dont like the back end at all, cept the integration of the exhaust into the bumper is a cool idea. The headlights look like there from a TSX. Are there any interior pics released?

03Sleeper 04-11-2007 02:40 AM

RE: 8th Gen Discussion

The front end looks like it comes to a point. They should make the headlights bigger than in the RSX. Laser lights = bad taste = Civic.

Yeah, the backend is disappointing. But then again the beginning of the 7th gen (03-05) backend was horrendous. Perhaps Honda will apply the same strategtic buttlift.

Eek....I hope this is NOT the final product of the Accord coupe. It's like when the 50s clash with today....you get a real ULGY (notice the spelling) design.

http://images.motortrend.com/auto_sh...ohn_mendel.jpg
It clashes with the rest of the vehicle so much....and it looks like its smiling.

^ too bad they didnt get a video clip of the interior

RE: 8th Gen Discussion

Why? The interior is ugly as crap.

RE: 8th Gen Discussion

I'm not too wild about it. Looks kind of like a TSX crossed with a scion tc with rear end of one of those newer mitsubishis. I can't think of what model Mitsubishi right now, but I know I've seen a very similar rear end on one.

I kinda like the concept but curious as to how the sedan will end up. Also curious how much the engines will be pumped up, they are a little behind the rest of the pack now.

Ohh i thought the a-vtec would come out for the 2008 model. To bad i guess. Gotta wait a little longer.

That's like 7 years from now. Honda is cautious to bring out the big guns because they are so preoccupied with "efficiency and environment-friendly"

RE: 8th Gen Discussion

that is only a pic of the interior, if there was a clip of it, we could get more of an idea of how spacious it is.

The rear looks like a Chrysler 300m and I think the very front where the grille is and below it needs to be changed. The aggressive headlights looks amazing but the flat nose looks bad in my opinion. Then, I dont like how from the side view the nose hangs waaay over the wheels and looks like a cross between an Audio and Volvo.

I think they have some great ideas.....but eh, im not a big fan. Maybe it will grow on me? I think I like the new Sebring better, more hp, and it costs less.

EDIT- Just noticed the exhaust! Looks like there will be four tips...im guessing one side will be fake though. Looks sweet:) But may be a pain to upgrade and a lot more expensive.

03Sleeper 04-12-2007 02:12 AM

RE: 8th Gen Discussion

I think they should stick with the 7th gen front....that was real smooth and flowing.

the four exhaust will be downgraded to dual exhaust come production time.

im wishing for a true dual exhuast this time....finders crossed[sm=sigh.gif]

Looks are always subjective. There are plenty of American made cars that may cost a bit less than the Accord, but IMO, the value is not there. How long is the Sebring going to lasat w/o major problems? Have you driven a Sebring?

I have not driven the new one, but I had a couple of the previous generation for rentals last year. Driving that vehicle made me want to take the bus. My 88 accord had more personality.

This should be the 08 Accord. (Yes, I know it's the NSX/HSC)

I would love to pick up one of those NSX's!! Always loved the look of them.

The interior looks too big for the coupe...perhaps the sedan?
