Well I'm at my last year of high school and need to think of what I'm going to do in the future. I want to do something in the automotive field but i here mixed things from people like some people say you make bad money and others say you make good money(like a mechanic). What are your guys opinions on automotive jobs? Do they make enough money? Need help lol.

 

Many of my friends are in the automotive field, some at private shops and some at dealerships. My understanding of it is, you can make decent/good money(depending on where you work), but there is alot of hard work involved as i'm sure you know.

I personally decided that it was not what i wanted to do with my life, as I imagine that after years of doing it it would get old, and the manual labor would take tolls on your body. Also I just like working on my own car, not really other peoples.

You will want to look into automotive colleges, I have friends that have attended Wyotech and Baran Institute.

 

If you decide against being a mechanic I believe there are some universities that have majors specializing in the automatize industries.

 

UTI in Illinois is also a GREAT automotive school to go to.

I've thought of an automotive career myself, but strayed from it for the same reasons L2R posted.

 

Yea I'm going to go to be a plumber were the money's at.
