This could get interesting!
Folks, hurricane Dean is headed right in our direction, OY!
We have two plans in action, one to stay and one to haul a$$. Obviously we can't make an intelligent decision for a few days but it's still scary. It's tough trying to plan things for both sides.....fight or flee, but we have no choice.
I've been through a great deal in my life. I've been cut, I've been shot, and a great deal more. I've been through one hurricane in Georgia MANY years ago ( I went to the beach to body surf!) but it didn't endanger my life or my property........well, yesI did but I was a bulletproof young pup back then.THIS one is waaayyyy too close to the old homestead!
Please wish us well.
Rick

good luck man. if you have to save something, save the accord lol.
thats whats good about new hampshire, not natural disasters, we had a tornado once, but it was like a little girl tornado that couldnt even take a house down.

My wife and I used to have a winter home in Melbourne, Florida. We'd usually go there in Sept or Oct. and stay through the winter.
In the few years we owned the place, we had to evacuate 4 times for hurricanes,so we can completely empathize with what you're going through. Tornado threats were kind of disturbing, too.
If the storm continues to approach, if you can possiblyplan for a quick week's vacation togo to visit relatives or whatever, grab the photos, batten down the hatches and just do it.
Good luck to you, Rick, and please keep us informed as to how it goes.

As of Sunday morning Dean is not projected to hit Texas at all. We are both relieved but will certainly watch closely. Too early to celebrate just yet.

Yeah, good luck! But be safe, and make a plan in case you need to. I would pack up all your momentos and high $$ stuff just in case. If you do have to evacuate, youll be glad you did. Oh, and you may want to load up on gas!
I am curious about being shot? Thats crazy!

Keep your eyes on that weather channel and weather.com. I'm right around the Jackson, MS area and we had damage from Hurricane Katrina all the way up here. We lost power for about a week in 100 degree heat. Plus everyone freaked out about needing to fill thier cars with gaswhich caused a gas shortage. The lines outside of the gas stations were unbelievable. I cannot imagine what the families that lived on the coast went through. If that storm starts to take a turn north, I would definitely recommend evacuation. Especially since some criminals will take advantage of the no-power situation and loot businesses and homes. So if the hurricane doesn't get you, the heat or thecriminals could.
Good luck to you and your family.
Good luck to you and your family.
