Cracked Spark Plugs ?

See if you can get a good look inside the boot of the sparkplug wire, the part that covers up the spark plug. Evidence of arc tracking? Clean it up real good?
A bad connection between the metal socket inside the plugwire & the actual wire itself might lead to higher temperatures inside that rubber socket on the end of the plug wire. Excuse for new wires?
If something about the plug wires promoted arcing along the surface of the ceramic, that arc (over time) might've led to the cracking.
On one hand the cause of the crack is academic - you just need new plugs. OTOH, you want to understand & eliminate the cause so it doesn't just happen again.

Yea Jim that is the biggest thing...how or why did this happen.
I have the old wires, been replaced with new ones that have only had 3~5 minutes of run time on them, and I will be looking "inside them" tomorrow just to see.
I picked up new plugs on Monday, they are gapped and ready to go in. I only put the old ones back in hand tight to keep water out....didn't even put the wires on them.
We'll see what happens over the weekend, might go buy a new mower tomorrow and play with that instead of the car? WHo knows.

I've always said I wouldn't last a winter month where most/some of you live.
Yes, here it will be a week or two until mowing is really needed.....many of my neighbors mowed last weekend.
So my B Day off tomorrow can go from doing nothing....to buying a new or used riding mower......to buying a new car.....to buying a new car and a mower.
There is a small engine shop just down the road, they had a used/rebuilt rider for ~$600 two weeks ago. If they still have it tomorrow, I'm in.....I am not push mowing this year like I did last year.
The car, at least the Acura dealer is 30~40 miles away so that may prevent me from doing that.....but then again who knows

I had a recent experience w/ spark leakage on my daughter's 06 Subaru Outback (4-cylinder opposed engine). No. 4 had almost a dead miss, but coil pack was generating a good spark. I tried cleaning the coil spark outlet tower and inside of the spark plug lead. It would work for long enough to make me think a fix was achieved, but missing would inevitably restart.
I wound up replacing both the coil pack (all 4 cyls in one assy) and spark plug wires (new NGK) to fix the problem.
My wife and daughter really give me grief when I try to "poor boy" the fix.

Ok, I can no longer work on cars and all of my skills are out the window.
I'm feeling so stupid right now.
I've gone thru the details of "how I got here". Today it is like mid 70's so I can actually do things and somewhat think.
I have been spending all of my time looking at the intake tube from the air filter to the turbo for air leaks....my dumb *** self managed to knock the tube from the intercooler to the TB off. How I have no idea, so again I have to walk away and not try to work on things.
I'm not even going to try to put it back on today, sorry Cam, as I feel so bad.
I'll just get on my new/used riding mower and mow the weeds down.

Just so I can put an end to this and make sure that Cam knows I didn't destroy his car.
Once I put the intake tubing back where it needs to be.....guess what, it runs like a dream again. I realy want that "hammer to head icon".
Also the "slight break up" I thoought I felt in the higher rpm's is gone, guess without three cracked plugs it would be better
Kept all of the old parts and will date/milage what was changed when so you have a record of it.
Played with the rear wiper a bit. Motor is fine, I can hear it run. So I'm guessing something in the linkage is up. Will be looking for a diagram of the linkage and how to get the cover(s) off to get to it for more investigation.
