me: yes.
old fat guy: oh so it's turbo charged..
me: no.
old fat guy: then i guess you dont have v tec..

wasnt about my car, but my friends car, it was at my towns annual car show(not a big import scene, lots of domestics and classic cars). He has a carbon fiber hood, and at least three people asked why his hood was black when the car was green.

Just one random night, my crew decided to park on the main drag and pop our hoods. Some random older guy(45-50) came and looked at mine
him:thats not stock is it
me:no it isnt
him:I had one and it didnt look like this.

 

Ok I was talking to this kid from my school and he asked to see my intake. I showed him and he told me about his intake in his volvo. (not sure what kind)
kid: yea I have an intake in my volvo
me: Ah cool
kid: It has a little pipe/tube that goes across the engine.(most likely a vacuum line)
me:Ah
kid: I think its an intercooler
me: Lol'd to myself and shut my hood.

 

He was probably talking about his turbo. I think most if not all volvos are turboed.

 

Oh. I don't know anything about volvos lol. But he was referring to the little pipe off the intake as his intercooler lol. I know what an intercooler is. Trust me all the kids at my school know nothing about cars. All they say is omg! I have an intake!! Since my car is louder I'm so much faster now!! This kid at my school leased an 08 sentra ser spev v and he tried to make fun of my accord saying of you don't know**** about cars with your POS accord and your hubcaps. I laughed and said yo your making fun of a 9 year old car compared to your new car. I said I drove a spec v when i had my permit before you even knew what it was lol. He goes yea I'm planning on making it a 10 second car. I told my friend that's a viper enthusiast/exotics that and he laughed so hard lol. Cocky*** kids now a days.

 

Turboed Volvos have a rubber hose that goes over the valve cover that actually is for air from the intercooler. Most arent as dramatic as the pictured one below, but you get the idea.



and lol to making a leased car a 10sec car, most people have no idea how fast a 10sec car is, they just have seen the fast and the furious. And I highly doubt the dealership would allow him to do that.

 

That's why me and my friend laughed drastically LOL because it will never happen. He was talking about how he's gonna extend the warranty and then buy it out i guess. Not too sure how leasing works thats why I just buy the cars. As for the volvo, well who cares id never buy one lol. But yea that's weird.
