In my house we were in the same dilema a few years ago with a total loss car. Trying to sell it by parts became a nightmare when on eBay we spent money in vain, because the electrical parts didn't sell out due to the lack of providing warranty, the body parts were also full of "watchers" but no buyings. The mechanical parts sold only when the price was ridicously low. In this case, seling or not, eBay Motors will charge you anyway for putting your ad, so watch out.
In Craigslist, I don't even want to remember it. Several e-mails and even phone calls telling us that they will come to pick up the parts but nobody showed up at all. Only three to four parts were successfuly sold.
We never tried to use those websites where they charge you 400 bucks in advance to give you a list of potential buyers of your used parts.
You might sell the car parts after several months, no doubt about it, but you will discover that people are "not crazy" to buy your used parts right away, and that if you don't have a storage place to keep the parts for a while, you will end like we did, selling the leftover parts by weight in a recycling place.
We cleaned up the area, we enjoyed a little money, we forgot about it and kept living driving the new replacing vehicle happily up to today.
I truly wish you good luck in your case, I'll hope the year and model number of your car is a hot seller, otherwise you will experience lots of frustration when you notice how slow is the process of successfuly selling used car parts.

People just don't seem to want to spend that money even when you post your parts at a ridiculousy low price.
For instance..I put in Headlight bulbs that cost $15.95 each at AutoZone and Advance for only $1.00 each plus the shipping and then people wanted me to split the cost of the shipping.. **it for brains I'd say they had..
