Hi Everyone,
I work for U.S.News and I'm out getting some feedback on our new car rankings and reviews site. We have The Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry tied for the #1 spot in our list of Best Affordable Midsize Cars. We arrived at this ranking based on the consensus opinions of many expert reviews. The reviewers claim that the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry come out dead even in almost every aspect. It's essentially a tie. I'd be interested to know what you guys think of the ranking and scores of the Accord, Camry or any other car on our list.
Thanks,
Bret

I agree with Smaglik. From looking at the link, there should be no question that based on what is displayed that the Toyota should be above the Honda. Also, what use is it to come here looking for an unbiased opinion. There are a bunch of things on this site that don't make sense. Overall ratings are higher than the system ratings. The 08 ranks a half point higher than the 07. There are incomplete categories, yet rankings were made.
Bret, we are waiting for a response from you to sway our opinion that you are a real person and have been truthful in your first post. No offense intended, but nobody here knows you since you have 1 post.

I certainly understand your reluctance to click on the link. All I can say is that we are U.S. News, and we take the reputation of our brand name seriously. We are generally interested in your opinions specifically, because you are biased towards the accord. We are still in the beginning stages of this site and we would be curious to know if we have missed anything. Feel free not to click on the link, but I would still be interested in anyone's opinion on the debate between Accord and Camry.
Thanks again,
Bret

Bret, thanks for responding so quickly ..... now we know that you are a real person. Please shed some light on the issues that I presented above.
Dang...Ford Fusion as nbr 3.
"
Reliability: 9.5 (Excellent) Based on the U.S. News analysis of reliability information from a number of different sources, the 2007 Ford Fusion receives excellent marks for predicted reliability. The Fusion comes with a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Ford also provides the Fusion with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty."
Just curious what you use as reliability sources? Consumer surveys or...?

That was something else I was going to question, but I figured that I'd leave that one alone ...... otherwise I might have to suggest the fix of the day for it.
FORD=Fix or Repair Daily!!!!

Let me start where I can. First the 2008 Accord ranks higher than the 2007 due to recieving a complete redesign it recieved. Reviewers seem to believe that Honda has improved the interior and exterior of the car. The exterior seemed to be the consensus weak point of the car in 2007:
The reason there are no scores for some categories is that the data does not exist yet, as the car is new. Obviously I can't reveal much of our internal methodology, but for those interested, please read our "Methodology" page below:
I'll try to answer as many questions as possible.
Thanks again,
Bret

I find it interesting that you managed to rank the two vehicles equally without having a rating for safety and reliability, which in my opinion are two major factors when looking at a car, especially a toyota or a honda.
