V12 is basically the better brother of the I6. It's also hella more expensive. Both boast of the same legendary balance quality.
Like a straight-6, this configuration has perfect primary and secondary balance no matter which V angle is used and therefore needs no balance shafts. A V12, with two banks of six cylinders angled at 60° or 180° from each other, has even firing with power pulses delivered twice as often per revolution as, and is smoother than a straight-6 because there is always positive net torque output, as with an engine with 7 or more cylinders. This allows for great refinement in a luxury car; in a racing car, the rotating parts can be made much lighter and thus more responsive, since there is no need to use counterweights on the crankshaft as is needed in a 90° V8 and less need for the inertial mass in a flywheel to smooth out the power delivery.

I agree whole-heartedly with the rwd comment. You cant throw a car into a turn and pull it out with fwd...it just wants to shove....Honda needs to make a v6 awd accord...part time though, so fuel mileage doesnt completely drop in the pisser.

well, to be initiated, you first have to do the elephant walk with all the moderators....follow that up by giving a rusty trombone to every third member, and you'll be one of us!

Haha! You have an M3! Of course you are!
IMO rear wheel drive is the way to go if you want to race. Does anybody here ever watch the show "Pinks" on the Speed channel? I have seen plenty of them where a guy will have a Civic with mad power racing an american made car such as a Mustang or a TransAm with roughly the same or even less power. Normally theAmerican made car wins[:@] Of course I could be wrong since they only show an estimate of the HP but not the torque, which is one of the biggest factors when drag racing. It still just seems like theFWD can never bite as hard and get as much traction as the RWD.
