How much is this Civic worth?
So my friend has an 83 Civic 1500S with 66,000 miles and a beautifully running original engine. It's all stock and has a flawless red body.
He wants to sell it but doesn't know how much it's worth. I can't find any reliable references online but was thinking 3-5k. Any ideas?
Here are some pics.
Thanks

I know the miles are low and that. Does the AC work....does it even have it? We are dealing with a carb, some don't like that. It will be hard to find replacement parts for the car, age.
Not sure of the "collector" market for these but I'm going to guess it is low. So do I spend 3K on a 86...maybe 83 civic or something newer that I can get for 3k?
Personally, I have no collector interest in the car. I somewhat know Honda's, with the above in mind, I might offer 1K if it passed "my tests".
I've got a 66 Chevelle (120K) with a poor old 283, 2bbl carb, double hump small valve heads and a two speed powerglide trans. I'm the second owner, Dad was the first as he bought the car new off the lot. Have all of the paperwork from the dealer, Dad documented almost everything done to the car......if I ever thought, nevermind, "HAD" to sell it......~16K or don't even call (EDIT: He paid less than 2,900 for the car in Aug of '66). Again the market for a 66 Chevelle vs a 86 or 83 Civic are two totally different things.
I could be wrong, more research on your or his part will be needed? I just gave my opinion......Sorry.

Thanks for your input though. It's helpful since I really had no idea. I thought it might be worth more because of it perhaps being a collectable. Everything is pretty much perfect condition.

I did find this here. 113k for $3k.
1983 Honda Civic 1500S Excellent Condition No Reserve | eBay
I think my friends may be worth 3500? 4k then?

Yeah, poorman, you did make an important point about the market and the considerations of the buyer.
@shipo, I guess I'm looking more for what the asking price should be but thats strongly based on the worth. Theres no KBB value, but the condition and type of car would make it a potential collectable.
Itd be nice to sell this for what it's worth. But there aren't many, if any, classic honda enthusiasts around here. Reading different threads on these cars it appears that the price range is a good deal for those who do love these cars. It's just a matter of finding those people.
