Default Idea on Worth 98 Accord

My buddy has a 98 accord LX black in color -that the auto transmission just went out on-has 189000 miles pretty good condition straight body runs well just some minor wear and tear- someone told me worth like 500 bucks-is this true or who could i sell too to get more any ideas on value --thanks

depends were u stay i just sold a 99 accord with 240000 miles to the chasis and only 90k miles engine n tranny for 1700 and it was flawless paint n interior was like new but here in houston their is alot of lowballers but yea y dont u buy it u can get a used tranny for it for about 300 if u look around and y not keep it

Around $1000 or so, install a good used tranny you could sale it for around $2 ish

There aren't many people who want to buy a car that doesn't work. I'd imagine $1,000 would be the absolute maximum you could get for it.

You're right there are not many buyers out there would buy it, if it's in pretty good condition with just some minor wear and tear and no dents or rust, the paint is good i'll buy it $500 plus :-)

Ouch.... Can you just buy a good used computer at car-parts.com for $200 and under. Then pay to have someone install it for you and also get the bypass solenoid and 2 way valve or whatever replace while they at it. It should take that long to do the job i don't think.

If you get your car repaired at a dealership, you might as well flush your money down the toilet. Do research, buy the parts yourself (if possible) and either do it yourself or bring it to a shop and tell them what you'd like to be fixed.
