Ah! Maybe I should get rid of the uninsured motorist? That's probably why i'm a bit higher as well as my location.

Definitely should not have used the car dealer's wife as an insurance agent. I guarantee you she picked a company that has a higher rate, therefore she gets a higher commission.
If you live under the same roof as your mother, her auto coverage should be able to add you to her policy unless it is some kind of crazy customized policy. It does not matter how old you are and she should not have to be on the registration. If her insurance company says she does, that must be a unique company policy. As long as you are related by blood, marriage, adoption, or are a foster child, you are a covered "insured" under her policy, therefore she should be able to add your car.

btw - in case you didn't know, I am an insurance adjuster. I just got through taking an agent's licensing course as well, but i'm not going to become an agent. the course was just for "fun" I guess. The company I work for paid for it.

I pay about $130/month for both of mu accords. I have full coverage with a $250 deductible. Limits are 200,000/300,000/500,000 I believe. I am 24 years old and married.

my loan company said i couldnt get her on the reg. and then my moms insurance said she has to be on the reg. but when i called with my mom on the line and told them i was recording this they said the charge was due to me not proving i had insurance from june-07 to aug-07 even though i gave the actuall guy my card that was from aug-07 to dec-07 and asked if it would be fine he said yes. needless to say i sent them the crap and told my mom that they lied becuase on the bill it said the increase in pay was due to "no proof on good student discount." so they said they'd fix it. find out this week.

That is total bullcrap they are giving you about the registration. My 95 Accord is on my insurance policy and it is registered to my wife's dad. Not even the same last name as me or anything! The company didn't even ask who the vehicle was registered to! You need to call an insurance agent and get quote ona Travelers policy. No, I do not work for Travelers either. I just get a dang good deal buying my insurancefrom them. Tell your mom if she switches her homeowners and auto both to Travelers she will get a massive discount. That's what I did.

So Jon, you get a better rate from Travelers than Briarfield? I'd think that they'd give you an employee rate!!!

Brierfield does commercial policies only. I.e. business auto fleets, etc..

Haha...yeah but the commercial policies cost a lot more. Plus the coverage is more restrictive. I.e. no rental car for a collision loss unless you buy a rental endorsement, etc...
