I recently fixed our '94 Accord that broke a valve spring as my son was heading back to college. We've been driving the car around town for the last week to ensure everything was ok and there were no issues. My son wanted to take the car to see a friend who lives about 2 hrs away. Since he had a cell phone and I'm am off work, I said ok. About an hour after he left, I get a paniced phone call saying he has pulled over and the car is making a "thumping" noise and he needs me to come get him... After trying to diagnose over the phone and finding the engine still able to run, I told him to put his flashers on and limp home. While he was limping home, a police car pulled him over. The officer came up to the car and my son started explained he was having some car troubles.... The officer smiled and said, "...it wouldn't have anything to do with that flat tire would it?"

I'm sure that officer is getting a good laugh tonight.... Guess my reaction if I had driven an hour to rescue him only to find he had a flat tire!

Kids these days....

 

I figured it out soon as he told you that there was a thumping noise...

When he called the first time, he said he stopped and checked the tires and they were good which threw me off... I guess he needs to spend a little more time with me in the garage...
