I have never heard of "acts of god" or "acts of nature" not being covered unless it's flood. Unless a certain large Insurance Company...cough....State Farm.....cough........ figured out a way to deny it the way they screwed thousands on the Katrina Claims. they paid for it in the end though with that huge lawsuit they lost and they made the entire insurance industry look bad in the process.

 

Jim, will this prompt you into installing a lightning rod?

 

We're getting conflicting advice on lightening rod. Mostly saying not to bother. But haven't really decided yet.

 

Does lightening strike twice??? I think that you're ok now.

 

It will if that chimney is one of the highest elevated objects in the vicinity.

 

Do a big 3 upgrade on your new chimney!!!! Then wire the grounds to your flux capacitor and you can go back and set up a lightning rod BEFORE lightning hits your house!!! [sm=goodidea.gif][sm=yeahsmile.gif]

This reminds me of the BCA bowl (99 I think) at Virginia Tech when Lee Corso's rental car got blown up by lightening. Someone filmed it and it ran on the news for a while. ...... except that one was funny!

 

Too bad he wasn't in it when that happened! Haha! JK JK

 

The expression I've heard was that lightening doesn't strike THE SAME PLACE twice. That's because the same place doesn't exist anymore...

They took the chimney down to here (picture) & there were no more cracked flue liners. Rebuilt already. Now have to repair the shrapnel damage to the roof.
