live2rice's Official Motor Build Thread
Officially kicked off my motor build today with the aquosition of a H23 engine(I'm just using the block, check my post in the for sale thread for the left over parts). Woke up at 2:30am today to drive the 6 hours to Rochester, NY to pick up the motor(went to bed at 11:30pm which makes it a total of 3 hours of sleep).
Made good time getting out and was uneventful(surprisingly not alot of cars out from 3-6am lol). Got there, the guy was a good guy and seemed to know what he was talking about, and best of all not living in the ghetto.
got it all in my car and he said he had drained most of the oil out of it, so I was like alright lets lay it on its front then so we do and oil just pisses out of it. luckly soaked it up before it go onto my mom's interior.
The worst/funniest part of the day was I was driving along and said to my friend "The motor is in there pretty good, it shouldnt move around"
Then had to stop for a read light.
THUD
"That sounded like a motor".
it was all fine though, and i'm not even sure it was the motor perhaps just another piece.
But yeah anyways made it back home after taking a little longer detour then planned and got home around 6pm(visited my friends sister at the University of Rochester for lunch).
Here is a pic.
Then because I can:
Anyways as some of you know my plans are to build a N/A drag motor out of this motor, with goals of 300whp. The motor will not get much done to it right away, as I am low on cash. She is instore for a good cleaning however probably over thanksgiving break. I will keep updating this thread with update on the progress.
