Default Most reliable year(s) of Accord

Twoquestions for the pro's:

1. With proper preventive maintenance (but no more), whichAccordmodel years have proven to be the most mechanicallyreliable?

2. With proper preventive maintenance (but no more), whichAccordmodel years have proven to be theleast mechanicallyreliable?

I'm not one of the pro's but I'll toss in my opinion

Most: 94-97 (might possibly say 97 and older)

Least: 98-02 (tranny)

i own a 99 accord ex auto. a lot of the v6's had tranny problems and some 4 cylinders, but this generation is great in my opinion. i got over 161,000 miles on my car.

I like that generation of accord but as far as the family of accords go it's the only one with a major class action suite against it that was won.

having owned a 98 and a 94 that was rebuilt from salvage and the 94 car was by FAR more reliable

things I had to fix on the 94 over 90K miles

left outer CV joint
radiator cap
exhaust
recharge A/C
thermostat

Total cost approx $500

Things I had to fix on the 98 LX V6 all within 11K
battery cable
alternator
Transmission replaced 3 times

Total cost $4000

Dad's 01 accord tranny died at 40k miles and I know a couple people with the 6th gen accord with tranny problems as well. From the reviews that I've read the 94-97 seems to be the most reliable. Most common problem for it seems to the the o2 sensor going bad. My 97 hasn't had any work done to the engine or tranny other than the maintenance stuff.

I'll say 4th and 5th gens are the most reliable.

my 5th gen hasnt really had any problems other than the starter going with 117k on it

id say 5th gens are the most reliable.
so far on my 5th gen ive had these things replaced, though. (with 92k)

Power Steering Pump
Oil Pan Gasket
Drv side axle
Drv side CV joint
sway bar linkage
some other things i cant remember at this juncture...
not too bad though.
