Default My project yesterday

So I used my day off yesterday to mount my TV and run all the wires through the wall... it took a stupid amount of time to do it right because my wife didn't want any wires visible and I had to run a power outlet up there but it's done! I got the Samsung 50" plasma and I'm pleased to say that with proper adjustment it looks amazing... 18bit color, 15,000:1 contrast ratio... beauty!

Anyway, check the pic!

I just realized I post a picture of it sitting on the stand before I lifted it *L*Here's the current setup.... I will mention that anyone looking to do this, DO NOT run the standard supplied power cord through the wall, it's not up to electrical code and if something happened to the house your insurance company would use that as an excuse not to pay you a dime.... If you're interested in how I did it I'll give you instructions...

As for buying the house I know that feeling.... that's what we just did... Thus the three hour project yesterday *L*

Your garage: Our shop here has that grey epoxy style floor paint (or whatever they call it) which is nice, the only thing I don't like is that when it gets wet it's SUPER slick, plus if you drag stuff accross it you can scratch it (not easily thought) and it leaves a dirty looking divit that collects crap, on the bright side I haven't seen anything stain it....

Nice .... I was about to ask why you didn't just leave it on the stand, but that was the wrong pic. I have to take a pic of my bedroom setup for someone, once I clean up a bit. I'll post that when I have it.

LCD has a much harder time of displaying SD channels and makes them look very blockly and pixelated, since I watch a lot of sd for now I needed something that wasn't going to drive me nuts..

I am jealous too. Since I have a built in spot for a TV in my house though, the biggest I can get to fit would be 42" or so. But that's still pretty big. Removing the "built ins" is not an option either.
Right now I have a heavy @$$ 35" Sony Vega TV that fits the spot nealy perfect, so I will probably wait a while before getting either an LCD or Plasma.

Yeah, my SD channels are choppy sometimes, but I am almost positive it is due to my crappy antenna. I'll be gettting a really good one sometime soon.
I opted for an LCD b/c the last longer and dont lose brightness over time. Plus they are lighter! lol [8D]

I love the TV but honestly people who don't do a lot of high def don't need it.... sure it looks nice and yeah it's big but a CRT will display SD channels better than a plasma or lcd. As for the "built in" area could you string some bracing in there then get a wall mount, attach to the bracing and use the oversized TV to cover the hole?

I should mention.... LCD also has a harder time with fast motion, it tends to skip/get choppy, even wall street style tickers have a tendancy to jump on a number of LCD's and since I wanted this for the superbowl that problem just wasn't going to work... I will advise anyone who gets an lcd or plasma or tv in general go to avs forum and look for "{TV Model} settings" in their search engine, some of those users have more money into calibration equipment than I have in my entire home theater system and once I used their settings my picture was 1000x better....
