Default never tested it...

Ive had my car for about 5 weeks and havent really seen what it can do...I got the av6 coupe, 04. I was ata stop light thismorning (you can tell where this is going) I just got my rims put on last night (shining bright in the sun with a metallic black finish)the guy ina sierra 1500 next to me must have thought I was taunting him cuz when the light turned green he took off like a rocket...So i reacted just the same. He was half adoor length ahead ofme for the first 50 feet orso, then it kicked in (VTECPOWA) I redlined three gears before the next light and was far ahead of him..heheheee To make along story short I feel good about my first Hondaand bad for the guy in the v8...

Idont condone racing for anyone other than the pros and on the track
This instance was justan examination ofmy car's potential..........

In my M3, I like to let someone get 1/2 a length on me or so at a lane drop, then just blow by em.

I used to do the same thing as smaglik in my '90 5.0 Mustang (5spd). I used to do that because therear tires would just sit there and smoke if I tried to floor it off the line. But I know that 'stang was no M3 by any means! Although I do think the 5.0'shorsepower was underrated (factory specs say 225hp and 300ft lbs torque.) I had a buddy in college that used to have an M3 and he let me drive it once. Thing was quick. My only problem was with his M3, you had to rev that sucker up to like 3000 rpm before taking off or it would die on you. I don't know if that is just the wayyou had to driveit, or if he had done something to it to make it act that way.

Bssmagik, Is your accord manual tranny or auto? One of my buddy's girlfriend has either an '04 or '05 auto coupe V6 and that thing is pretty quick too. I would love to drive one of the V6 6spd's and see what it could do.

My M3 is rated at 333 hp, 285 tq. I'll get the tire spin too, but I always leave the stability control on, so when I hit it off the line, I have to gauge how hard to go, cause too much and the DSC retards the power delivery.

What generation was your buddy's M3? I have no issues taking off with the rpm's quite low, in the area of 1500 or less.

Power is power, regadless of what country built it. Many people cant tell the difference between a regular 3 series coupe and an M3, or between a base mustang, and a mustang GT, or Cobra, for that matter. Those are the people you can have fun with. Legal fun, of course.

I believe it was either a 2001 or 2002. Possibly an '03 but I doubt it. I figured it was probably just HIS car that was like that and not all M3's. I don't know what the deal was with his, possibly clutch problems or something?

He may have put a high performance clutch in. I could see that causing that type of behavior, but in all honestly, once you learn the quirks of the car (gearbox is notchy with the BMW fluid, 1st to 2nd clunk), its a pretty easy drive.

My car is an automatic..I looked at some of the manual 6 speeds, but the accords i had driven before had clutches that felt like nothing...soft and airy...maybe theyve changed.

Well they haven't changed, that is the one complaint that I have about my car, the clutch feel. I am think about spending some money ona highperformance clutchso I can feel where the clutch is grabbing because the stock clutch is just like you said, soft and airy.
