Well I'm fed up with my tranny slip. I'm brining my car to the dealer on Monday to have the tranny looked at.

How many miles?

Remember, 5 spd swap and rebuilt auto are the same price, one will fail again, the other is more fun and lower maintenance.

I have about 80,170. I would love to get the 5 speed but I don't think my parents will let me. If the dealer tells me that my auto will die soon, then maybe my parents will give in to me gettin the manual. Do you think the dealer would offer a manual swap? Or would I have to find that on my own?

Probably on your own, it can be difficult to do.

Don't forget to check http://www.hondatransmissionsettleme.../php/login.php before you head to the dealer.

My friend just got into an accident with an auto tragic that was slipping. He has a mechanic freind that reported the accident was caused by the slipping tranny, so he's getting a new one under insurance. I told him to swap it with a 5sp, but the insurance will only cover a new AT. Pretty sweet if you ask a fat guy

so just bring it to the most expensive shop to get a quote for insurance, get the check then bring it to a cheaper shop and do the 5spd.
