that is DEFINETLY a civic read end and a prelude front end. crazyiness!

the engine bay is fairly similar except many things have been moved all over the place. I am astounded.

strange thing is that the UK Civic rear looks nothing like this, most of them are/were 3 door hatchbacks and quite slinky.

Nafango - your Accord is same year as mine. If you have one, could you post photos so I could compare. Cheers.

academic -

I doubt any of us here have EVER seen anything that looks like that on our shores. I'm not knocking it I'm simply saying that it is a Euro model and doesn't make it to the U.S. Just as you'll never see one that looks like mine.

Today, the Euro/UK Accord is sold here as the Acura TSX. Ithought that beginning with the 5th-gen Accord theNorth Americaversions were different. It's just at that time we never saw the Euro/UK versions.

I've been trying to avoid telling you this but here the Accord is targeted at the pensioner market, the infamous blue rinse brigade. Funny, I was watching an old edition of Top gear last night. They were doing a cross comparison between Civic R, Golf GTI, Seat Leon Cupra, and some alleged hot French crap. In the Stig speed test, first was the Civic, second the Seat and third the Golf.
Clarkson said at the end that he would still buy the Golf because if you bought the Civic R, at the end of the day, you had just bought a Honda.

Here the Accord is one of the top sellers. It's #2 behind the Toyota Camry I believe. I saw many Hondas in the UK but few Accords. It crosses all paths from the young person buying his/her first car, to the young couple starting a family, to old farts like me. It covers a broad spectrum of buyers and is synonymous with quality and reliability. If you are fortunate enough to acquire one actually made in Japan (see my J-Spec icon) you have a coveted piece of machinery that is the best of the crop.
