Default Pacific Sharkfest

Back in May, I bought an 87 635CSi. Earlier this month, I went to a gathering up in northern california. Here are some pics of it. Me and my car are in there somewhere too.

thanks. I was inspired by falkore's scion post, though I havent done much to modify it, save a UUC short shift kit.

Its got 110k on it, no rust, interior is 10/10, front seats are prolly 8/10. PO took good care of it, but didnt drive it that much, so I have been chasing down seal leaks. I spent about 6700 on it, and am probably in for about 3000 since then. Expected, sadly. Gives me a reason to buy tools.

So how does the 635 stack up to the M3?

I like the carIn 4 more years you can get an antique tag and never have to renew your tag again!

the style is very nice. very classic. the vehicle is not very fast though, but I typically drive it at 7000 feet and above, so everything is sluggish. it has about 218 hp and i think it weighs in the low 3000 range.

ton of fun to drive though.

Glad to give you some inspiration Ed!!!! The car looks great!!! I still have to change my back bumper, but first things first. I think next up are the big 3/battery relocation and the headunit/turbo gauge work.

That thing seems to still have some power ..... is that an inline 6?

Oh yeah. For styling, the 6-series was the one I lusted after most. Well, maybe 2ndafter the M1...

I used to have a 2002tii and I really hope (for your sake) that BMW has learned something about corrosion since 1974.

The early E12 6ers did have corrosion problems, but they pretty much sorted that out. My vehicle is rust free, never seen snow, nor the associated chemicals. It won't see it as long as I own it either. I expect that if I were to drive it through a Wisconsin winter, within 2 years, all the care of the last 2 decades would go to the wayside.
