Default She's gone

I've been debating whether I should post about this, mostly because I don't like complaining. However,
Our beloved 1994 accord wagon was stolen! It had over 200k on the odo and was more than ready for its fourth paint job but I still suspect that it was targeted. It was taken last Tuesday night from in front of my house where it was usually parked overnight. I am now hoping that it will be recovered but becoming less optimistic by the day.
I am posting for three reasons:
1) If you own a 94-97 accord wagon, cherish it and keep it safe!
2) I would really like to hear some security ideas other than locking it in a garage.
3) Has anyone here ever had a car stolen and recovered it?

I am sorry to hear this. Lets hope its just some kids that are joyriding in it so the police can find it and get it back to you. Hopefully it wasnt for a chop shop or the cartels.

Best of luck getting it back.

Yes, but only because it was

2004 Nissan Quest van. They were riding around my area and didn't bother to change/remove the license plate, so the police ran the tag and arrested them. We were very lucky, as it ususally doesn't turn out that way. My condolences to you on your loss.

If you don't findit or the police don't find it parked somewheres in the neighborhood then it might be in a chop shop...

Hope you get it back in one piece and not wrecked.

I'm sorry to hear as well. I'm hoping for the best.

Yes, there are some simple things that can be done to slow or stop it from being stolen again when you get it back.

STEERING WHEEL QUICK RELEASE HUB ADAPTER KIT RED GMC HONDA HUMMER INFINITI LEXUS | eBay

Something like that is a great, easy, and cheap way to secure your car. If you dont mind carrying a steering wheel around.

Good luck on getting your car back.. I wouldnt know what to do if my Honda got stolen.. Id be SOL.

She's back! And not much worse for wear. Hardly any gas had been used and I was able to drive it home. Here are some pics:

Gee I really need to clean that.
We suspect that the car was involved in some kind of questionable activity then abandoned after the deed.
Thanks for the security suggestions. I'm going to look into the wheel release. For now it is parked in the back yard behind a locked fence. I plan to fix the window first. I will post more about that and the lock repair later.
I love a happy ending!

Glad you got it back, the lock repair probably isnt going to be the cheapest or easiest thing to do though.

Any chance you can get insurance to pay for repair?

glad you got it back.
Do not look for the steering wheel kit as you are not going to want to walk around with a live airbag in your hand and the kits are only made for old school non-airbag type of wheels.
An alarm system is a MUCH better option.

good to see you got your baby back. I agree, I would look into some sort of alarm system. easier to install and you can get them relatively cheap too.

now you've got to fix her up and get her back on the road again. won't be cheap but your insurance should help you out with that part! good luck!
