Default Sold my Accord

Sup everyone! I'd just like to let everyone know that I've sold my Accord. I haven't bought another car yet because I still have my other car. It's a Toyota Solara. I'll be test driving some cars in the near future. Here's a short list of what I'm looking at. All 2007 models:
Lexus IS350, Lexus IS-F ('08), BMW 5series, BMW M3, Acura TL, Acura TL-S, Toyota Tundra/Tacoma, Nissan Titan/Armada, Nissan 350Z. Any suggestions?

Depends on how my financial situation looks in a few months. Not in any rush to get another car, just looking to have fun driving all these new cars.

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone in this forum.....especially DesertHonda. This is the most helpful Accord site I've been on. I tried some others, but nobody seems to help anyone out like how this forum does. I'll be logging on every now and then to maybe help some newbies out, even though I'm still considered a newbie myself, but I'm sure they'll go through the same problems as I did. I might even visit to get some help on the Accord because I sold it to my boss's 16 year old son. Anyways, all comments welcome. Be back soon!

Actually, haven't made the transaction yet. Just a verbal agreement, but my boss & his son is serious. We'll make the exchange this Saturday. Sounds like a drug deal going on.....

There, I added the TL-S!! haha

Yeah, I can't make up my mind. I'm also thinking of the TL-S, I forgot to add that to my list. Test driving will be my deciding factor I think.

Great fun. My car is pretty much stock, except for an AVIC-D2 navi unit and black our gills and grills. 2003.5 Carbon Black / Cinnamon, 6sp, HK, 19", Premium, CPO and maintenance till 100k mi. I think it gets to 60 in the upper 4s. Car is like glue when cornering.

I bought it with 43k on it. Keep in mind that it is not a Honda or a Toyota. I had the sunroof slider replaced, trunk latch worked on, and clutch replaced (catastrophic failure, not worn out). The first 2 were covered under warranty, the latter under maintenance. I think this is an avg number of problems, though the clutch failure is rather rare. The S54 engine is pretty much bulletproof if taken care of properly.

I would probably not own one that is not under warranty. As such, because I drive a lot of miles (25-30k / yr), I bought the Accord to rack the miles on. If you drive a lot, keep your solara as well.

These cars are not cheap to own. A set of tires will run you 600-1200, depending on what you get. Fronts will last 25k or so, rears less so, depending on how hard you hit it. If you want to drive it in a winter climate, you must get snows. Otherwise, its like an unguided missile. Every 15k miles, it requires an oil service, every other oil service is part of an Inspection (I or II). Inspection I is about 700, II is about 1600. THis is covered by new vehicle maintenance, or till 100k if you extend it. Most owners perform an intermediate oil service on their own dime (every 7500). Oil and filter runs about 70$.

There is no 2007 M3. The E46 style that I have was discontinued after 06. The 08 model based upon the E92 chassis will likely come out in Spring 08 to long waits and high markups. Power plant should be a 4.0L V8 420hp/285ft-#, redlined at 8400. Supposedly it will eventually be released in vert, sedan, and touring, though that may be a few years off.

In your shoes, I would buy a CPO 05 or 06 and add mainteance to that. You can step into a pretty loaded model for about 45-50k, maybe a bit less as the E92 release gets closer and closer. Expect to pay low-mid 60s for the new ones next year.

www.m3forum.net is an awesome repository of knowledge. I caution you to search prior to posting questions, cause it probably has been covered there before, and they'll jump on you pretty quick there. Anything else, feel free to ask!

what's the criteria for your new car purchase? I.E. 4 door, 2 door, car vs. suv, certain MPG requirements, HP? if you don't mind me asking how much are you selling the car for?
