Default Upgrades?

Ok so I have a stock 01 Accord EX 4dr 4cyl. I'm a new driver, i'm not even thinking about installing anything crazy, theres no point to me, and my parents wouldn't want that either, so thats out of the picture. But, I do want to see what small things I can do to improve performance maybe without even buying anything? Also, is there any little appearance things that can set the car off big time? Thanks for the help i'm just looking for random things that might make the car better for cheap or nothing.

Tinted/smoked tailights look good and it's cheap/easy to do.... Tinted windows and lowering it make the biggest differences... Performance wise there's not a lot of gains (if any) you can get out of that car without adding stuff, they're pretty well tuned already...

What do you guys think about a new cold air intake and a new exhaust? Right now i'm only looking on eBay motors and I could find both for it looks like around $5 + like $20 shipping. Recommendations? Yes/no?

$5 for both of what? If you're talking about the CAI and the exhaust then it must be either really cheap or your not looking at it right. I would suggest going on ebay and getting a brand name exhaust and/or CAI, although neither are very cheap. Try searching AEM or Greddy, theyre both good brand names. Hope this helps.

I'd say before you do anything, lower it.

You can always lighten the car. Take out the spare tire and jack. Taking out the back seat helps too plus you won't have to give rides to people.

Buy a cheap SRI or CAI off of ebay, throw away the cheap filter that comes with it, and replace the filter itself with either an AEM Dryflow or K&N air filter which you can buy at your local Advance Auto Parts. It's the intake tubing you are paying for when you buy the intake from eBay. An SRI is about the easiestperformance modyou can do also.

Don't do that if you live in california or any other state that requires the intake to be carb exempt in order to pass visual for smog....otherwise it's a nice fairly inexpensive mod.
