Default What engine

unfortunately, my accord was written off a few months ago. A motorcyle hit it while i was waiting to turn right- bent the chassis *^$&*!

anywho, i have a N reg accord waiting (2.0 ils). only the crank has gone- so im thinking of dropping in a new engine. I would like to do this asap, im wondering if there are any better honda engines that i could just dump in- with minimal hassle. eg. would a honda f22 fit, or a prelude 2.2, or a civic b18 etc. I dont really know much about transplating engines; and so want this one to be as easy as possible. Im under the impression that if i choose the right engine, i may be able to continue using the mounts, loom transmission etc thats already on the car.

I am being tempted by a rover 620ti engine (200bhp and should fit easily)- but dont really want to use rover parts though!

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions.
cheers

(just realised i posted in the wrong section. sorry)

the problem, along with fitting it in the engine bay, is the electronics...

Im actually hoping that a friend who is a mechanic will do the work, and now that you've mentioned wiring (i didnt think of that) i think ill just stick with the same engine. now all i gotta do is find a donor car!

95 honda accord (F20) iLS chassis: CC7

Im now thinking the best thing to do is get hold of another engine- an identical one, and swap the crank; that is of course unless anybody tells me that its a really bad idea!

My friend will do the work as long as i source the parts....

Swapping the crank if possible on the next engine might decrease the displacement. F22, H22, and F23 are all bigger. Just get either of those 3, you need the torque anyway. F20 is torque starved, which is bad when your saying that other honda engines are making good torque numbers compaed to it.

Do you know if the f22 crank will fit, would it perhaps be easier just to swap the bottom end of the engine?
the current engine has head skim, port polish and the ecu is remapped accordingly- so im keen to keep the 'top' of the engine block the same, and replace as little as possible.
I really like the idea of using one of the cranks you suggested! as long as it will fit!

Not sure. [&:] Never saw measurements on a F20A.
