Ok, I'm probably going to be buying a used Honda and I found two local ads:

1) '96, 6 cyl, 81K miles

2) '00, 4 cyl, 127K miles

I'm leaning towards the older one because of the engine probably having more life (I drive cars till they die.) and the low miles obviously.

What do u guys think??

I would choose the 2000..Newer model..newer parts..

 

They're both old enough that I woudn't trust a bunch of internet postings by people who have not seen either car firsthand. Myself included. Consider finding a Honda mechanic to do a "buyer's inspection" for you.

Well, I got a bad carfax on the older one and the newer one was gone when I went to check it out. But I was at the right place at the right time. Got an '01 at $1100 below book with less than 95K. It may need a cat converter, but that's ok. :-)

Be careful with the 98-02s as the automatic transmissions are prone to failure.
