I'm looking at a 2008+ Accord 4dr EX-L for my wife. We are not new to Accords (or Honda's for that matter). We currently have a 1992 Civic (commuter car) and we previously owned a 2003 Accord LX.

Our old 03' Accord had a few issues that I'm trying to find out if Honda has fixed?

1. The poor light output from the headlights low beam. Compared to other cars we've owned, I found the 03' Accord hard to drive at night (especially in the rain) because the light output wasn't all that great. Do any of you know if they have changed the design to create more output and fix this problem?

2. Again, the 03' Accord had a considerable amount of road noise. I tried different tires but that didn't help. My wife's previous car was an Audi and although it was great in certain areas (handling, safety, road noise, etc..) we sold it once the warranty ran up. So I know the Accord won't be Audi quite, but it would be nice if they've improved on the previous models.

All in all, my old 03' was great, but these issues bother my wife (and I some too) enough to maybe keep us from buying another if they haven't been fixed. We have actually looked at the 08 (wife doesn't like the 09+ body style) Acura TL because I know the lights are brighter (HID) and they have more sound deadening...but they are also more expensive.

changing to brighter bulbs is very easy on just about any car.
my 97 Accord as headlights as strong as just about anything out (HID's in Projector housings)
As for road noise sorry I do not know. Prior to pissing away most of my money I was spoiled by driving only high end BMW's. Most cars seems to have a lot of road noise to me.

I appreciate the responses, but I must clarify that I'm not looking for a car right now. I'm just trying to gather data for our next car purchase. I'm at least a 12 months away from buying and I still haven't narrowed my search down to even a specific brand. When I bought my truck, I researched all 1/2 ton's on the market. My decision took over 8 months to make...full of spreadsheets, pictures, test drives, etc...I know I'm a bit extreme, but I want to keep whatever I buy for 10 years.
