Look up car-parts.com or call around local salvage yard. There should be plenty of them out there. I just put one in my 99 5sp with 20k in it for $900 delivered, good luck to you.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the help guys.. Heres another question.. My car is a LX, non vtec.. How simple is it to swap out the non vtec motor (F22B2) for a vtec motor (Say, F22B1 or F22Z2)? Is it fairly straightforward or do alot of parts have to be changed?

Again, thanks for the help.

Just the ECU and a wire needs to be run for VTEC.

ECU is around $100, an engine from a good salvage yard will come with complete wiring harness like the motor i just got, they did a very nice job none of the wires are cut. From car-parts.com i found a whole bunch of them for $650 and under in A condition. You can also try LKQ, they have very good extended warranty for parts and labor too. They offer me a 2yrs warranty parts and labor on a 00 2.3 Vtec with 130k for $550 deliver but they need a core back.

what would you be willing to pay for a fully built and tuned nitrous accord that runs?

How much power do you want to get out of it ? "Fully built" sound's expensive, a few friends of mine with their "fully built" mustangs and supra are not even reliable to be daily driver. One guy with a 2jz in his 89 supra spent well over $10k just in parts and his final number is 505hp @ the wheel and 479lb/ft torque. I don't know if a fully built Accord is cheaper or not, maybe the faster Accord guys in here will know.

go to h-motorsonline.com
Also if you want t swap from a f22b2 to a f22b1 vtec. It's pointless..you WILL NOT notice the power diff. Also the power diff. is only about 10-15hp also the f22bx engines have the worst head design that honda madefor accords. IF you want something with power just go for a h22 swap. The website ^^^^^^ is one of the best of the websites for used JDM engines. Just b/c the f22 says "vtec" doesn’t mean it's gonna be fast. sohc and dohc vtec are two totally diff. worlds. sohc vtec is for fuel economy dohc vtec is for high revving and to make power.
sohc= MPG
dohc = POWER

Also "fully built" words get thrown around like the words "I love you" fully built to one person can be rods and pistons and head studs. Or it can be forged pistons rods crank. Aftermarket valves cams rockers. some type of valve job cam gear(s) full exhaust custom header. Port and polished intake manifold...the list goes on. A tru fully built engine is EVERYTHING in the engine has been replaced with a diff. type of spec part that alturs the engines preformance is some mathematical way to produce the MORE amount of power possible
.

You can call up your local AutoZone - O'reilys and get a Rebuilt engine ..but your core has to be the same as the one you are buying or you will lose the core money which can be quiet a lot...
