I do not understand the need for the screen. Can someone enlighten me.

Default Need for condensor screen

The air conditioner's condensor is relatively fragile, and the great engineers at Honda designed it to be exposed to road debris. The screen protects the condensor.

I have an S2000 with the same situation. The first thing I did was to install the screen.

Looks nice. Here's my 2012 as well. Got the lower grille put in for the condenser reason as well.

And that is the reason why the screen...could't have said that better myself.
