what is misleading with the video is that he neglects to mention the basket. the factory speaker mounts in a basket. the basket screws into plastic inserts that are oddly shaped - this severely limits the available mounting depth of the new speaker.
NOTE: if you remove the basket for a deeper speaker you need to buy/make a new mounting baffle and add weatherstripping foam on the front of the new speaker basket to seal against the door panel grill. this seal is vital for midbass response.

The speaker I used as a replacement went into the existing speaker basket with no modifications. I chose that particular speaker because I'm pretty lazy and I didn't want to have to do any modifications to the speaker basket or the door panel.
Point of (mild) interest- The first set of speakers I purchased would have required me to modify or replace the speaker basket for proper fitment. I brought them back to the store and bought the Pioneers.
I do mention several things that one can do to improve sound quality and I point out that I'm not actually doing any of them.
OTOH, I did find a baffle for my muffler and I'm seriously considering installing it.
