RE: Brakes?

Hi there member..

This question can be answered by putting it to the general repair area but I will Caution You as to not say someting like "If you have to ask, you shouldn't be doing it!!!"

This little saying will get you angry e-mails and other members who will feel that you may think you are above their knowledge---so I would suggest that if you have the Knowledge and youv'e done them before yourself that you become Their HERO and Help Them Out with such Questions....

Where do we post questions about brakes?

I just know someone is going to post a question about how to remove the front rotors on their 90-97 Accord...
I want to be the first to reply with---If you have to ask you shouldn't be doing it!!!

RE: Brakes?

Hello guys. I just had to do rear brake work on my 96 accord lx v6

replaced both rotors, brake pads, 1 wheel stud, and rear washer camber trick.
where do you buy one of those + thing to turn the piston back? i had to ghetto rig it with 14mm wrench and a screw driver.

RE: Brakes?

Any suggestions on brake manufactures? I'm looking at the Power Slot OEM replacements for the front and rear of my 2000 LX V6 coupe. I'm trying to find some opinions. Seems like they (Power Slot) recommend Hawk brake pads as well. The questions I have are: 1) what are the best types of brake rotors for everyday to 'I wanna speed!' driving, 2) what, if any, types of calipers would I need to get, 3) how do aftermarket rotors/pads effect the ABS system, 4) how concerned do I need to be with warpage issues, and 5) what would be the best type of pads to use with new rotor packages. I'm not sure if there is anything else. This is a 'new' car for me, and I plan on doing much to it, so expect to see me asking questions elsewhere about similar add-ons, purchases, and such.
