Default 04 V6 sedan H&R Springs (Help)

I recently had the local tire/alignment shop install a set of H&R O.E springs about a 1in drop up front and 3/4 in the rear. So about a 1/4 inch more then specified by the manufacture. We did not get new struts and now when we go over bumps the suspension seems louder? It almost sounds like the struts are bottoming out? This is my husbands and I first dropped car so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think this is a problem amongst all lowering spring that only lower a small amount. The somewhat shorter spring with stock shocks can separate from each other when the suspension decompresses or lengthens over bumps. A heavier duty aftermarket shock would hopefully not allow the spring to fully decompress over bumps. Hope this helps, I had a similar problem with Eibach Pro-Kit springs (1" drop) and no one could figure out why it would clunk over bumps.

Well the alignment shop that installed the springs narrowed it down to a worn right front strut bushing $25 fix.
