Default Can I use the Tein lowering springs with Skunk2 sport shocks?

SKA16-AUB00 - Tein springs (90-97 Accord)

541-05-1100 - Skunk2 shocks (90-97 Accord)

There's no info on the shocks on the Skunk2 site, just a picture, model number, and what cars they fit.

Well, I wasn't sure if you had to have shocks that were made for the springs (Or vice versa) Tein doesn't sell shocks. I don't want to pay over $300 for skunk2 shocks only to have too much stress put on them and have them break.

you can use any springs on any shocks, as long as each are spec'ed for your vehicle.

and even oem shocks will not break under a lower spring unless they have many many miles on them already. plus, with a company like skunk2, its all meant to be lower and tighter, not to mention the fact that tein springs dont go much lower than stock.

sounds like youre spending quite a bit of money on all this. is there some reason youre not going with coilovers? you can find many complete coilover sets for the same price range (the best being "function and form" in my opinion). theyll run you just under 600, but you cant beat adjustable coilovers.

hope this helps

Well, now that I've decided to go with Koni shocks instead of S2 shocks, yeah it's going to run me a good amount. I can get the Tein springs for $200, but the Konis are going to be almost $600, if not more, by themselves. Had I known that the price was going to jump up that much, I would have started to look into coilovers from the beginning, but it's never too late.

with all due respect, NEVER pay that much for a separate spring/strut combo. get a full coilover set. as i said above, function and form type 1's are the best bang for the buck, but also check out neuspeed, tanabe, and megan racing. each will give you different character to your ride and different levels or adjustability, but all of those are the same price, and even cheaper, than your koni/tein combo. keep us updated!
