Lowering springs for 2000 Honda Accord LX
Hello guys, I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX with 17 inch Konig Trouble and 225/45/17. How low can I lower my car without rubbing problem? Also between H&R sport and Tanabe which one is better? Which of the two is more firmer and boucy? Thanks so much!
Oh before I forget, do I need to replace my shocks if I get any of these? And do I also need an alignment?

I prefer Tanabe. Also many companies and I believe these two as well, offer setups with different spring rates, so you can get the right firmness/bounciness. If you lower your car more than an inch it is recommended you replace the shocks as well, or you'll put too much stress on the stock shocks and blow them out. Alignment is absolutely needed, but it is a good idea, especially as the car gets lower and lower, you may also need to get a camber kit if you go much beyond 2.5 - 3 inches

When I lowered mine, I used Koni yellow adjustable shocks and Comptech springs. The shocks are adjustable for ride comfort (stiff or less-stiff) and I'm still fooling around with them (about a month-and-a-half). The springs have lowered the car about 1 1/2" and I have had no problems at all with rubbing or otherwise. I also put on 18" wheels (18x7.5 - 5x114.3) and tires (225-40-18). I think that I could have pushed it and gone to 19" wheels, but I'm not sure. I also think that I could put on slightly larger tires, but again, I'm not sure. Once I get my car cleaned up, I'm going to throw some pictures up (I've been meaning to do it, honestly!)

I just got my H&R Sport springs and cant wait to have it installed. My only concern is with my stock springs sometimes my fender lip hits the tires when the car has lots of people in the back. And I know by lowering my car I will be hitting the lip more often. Guys, do you think by getting a 205/50/17 will somehow eliminate the fender lip rubbing? And would you know how much they normally charge for rolling up the fender lip? Do you guys recommend a good shop in Walnut, CA area? Thanks!

if the tires are tilted in more than about 1 degree then you need a camber kit to adjust it out to normal or your tires will wear more quickly and less evenly..... You can run the stock shocks for a while if you want but eventually they are going to blow out and need to be replaced.... personally I'd probably use the stock ones for a while and save some cash for a nice set...
