Default sedan vs coupe

Are there differences in suspension and possibly other handling differences between the sedan and the coupe? A friend of mine has a 2005 coupe and I have a 2003 sedan. The 2005 coupe handles crisper and feels closer to the road and seems stiffer. Are there differences that are not shown in the specifications for the cars? I will be buying one or the other (2015), but getting in and out of the coupe is a little difficult for me, I'm 70 and slightly arthritic.

Does your friend's 2005 have larger wheels/lower profile tires?

No. But the difference in handling is noticeable. The coupe feels closer to the road, like it has a lower center of gravity, and the ride is stiffer. Both cars are stock. In my sedan, there is some sway. Not a lot, but when I'm in the coupe, it's steadier.

I'm sure the coupe is lighter, shorter wheelbase, & probably lower CG.

Differences might be LX vs. EX vs. whatever versions you two have.
Or Honda might have stiffened up the anti-roll bars between 2003 & 2005 for all I know.

If the real question is about the new one you're about to buy, I vote for you to test-drive different versions because it's a different generation of Accord anyway.

Default Coupe vs Sedan

Thanks, Jim. You are right. I will test drive both models. I am leaning toward the sedan, because it's easier to get in and out of, and more useful. The comparison I have with the 03 sedan and the 05 coupe is probably not entirely accurate, I just felt safer and more in contact with the road in the coupe. My mechanic has seen some troubles with the V6, but that's probably because it has more moving parts than the 4. But the difference in scoot is too noticeable for me to ignore. I live near US 81 and the PA turnpike, and some of the on ramps are short. The V6 just jumps out onto the road. I don't hot rod it, but when i need the jump, the car has it. I suppose that is still true since the recent V6's have gotten bigger. (3.0 vs. 3.5) i have been getting 34 mpg on the highway. I expect that the mpg is relatively the same.

If you like getting in & out of the sedan, maybe you need to look at whether EX or Sport versions have tighter suspension?? You might even find the 4-cyl more nimble just because of the weight of the engine?

I'm pretty sure the standard wheel/tire size has gotten bigger between 2003 & 2015 so you'll have that also.
