rent a spring compressor, it'll make things alot easier. Also, block out the whole day since you might mess up. Lat but not least, if your of legal age, beer, if not, root beer hahaha.

spring compressor... got it, and lol yea im over 21 and live in Los Angeles, so im of legal age... ill get a six pak.. dont want too much coz then ill prolly end up getting hurt or messin up the car lol... now that i think of it, ill drink AFTER im done and have gone for a test drive coz i always get the urge to test drive when i do a mod, lol...

i was planning on doing the front, and seeing how the car looks lowered only from the fron since i have the most inches in between the tire and fender, ill see if i can take pics for you all to see how it looks before and after....

Extended 6 point -17mm (1/2in), 14mm and 12mmsockets, 17mm wrench or socket and ratchet
Jack (maybe 2 - I think it helps to have 2)
Air gun
BFH - big ****ing hammer
Antiseize
PB Blaster or WD40

I just put new coilovers on my 98 coupe about a week ago, by myself in under 3hrs. Air gun or air tools are essential or at the minimum, a breaker bar. It'll be kinda tricky when you go to remove the spring/shock combo b/c its much longer compared to the new ones you'll be putting in so you kinda have to manuver it just right to get it out of the wheel well. For the rear, don't bother trying to remove the endlinks for the sway bar, just unbolt the brackets they're attatched to at the knuckle.

Something to watch for is the alignment of the cap to the forks. Make certain that the top of your shock cap (the part that has the bolts that go through the upper strut tower) is aligned with the forks on the base in exactly the same fashion as it was when you took it out. One way to do this is when you pull the old one out lay it on a piece of cardboard or paper and trace around it, then lay the new one on the tracing and make sure that the bolts and bottom fork align the same way. If you have it wrong it will be a PITA to re-install.
