Default 20's on a 99 Coupe

I am looking into putting 20's on my car. The correct upsizing would be 225/30/20. Susposedly that would not rub because it is sized corrrectly. I want to upsize the tire a bit, to 225/35. I was talking to some guy at a wheel place and he told me that they would fit but I would have to roll the fenders for them to not rub. I know that there are things you can rent to roll your fenders but is there anyone out there around NJ that knows a shop? I really don't want to butcher my stuff. Or do you think I will be alright with the 225/35's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Really don't want to roll them if I don't have too.

those are some big fricken tires.... my guess is that they wouldn't rub until you turned a corner or hit a bump....as far as a shop that can do it for you I have no idea but perhaps someone else will...

on a side note please refrain from using profanity... thanks and best of luck finding a place to do it! I'd love to see some pictures if you get it done

How much of a size difference is it from the 30 series to the 35? I would like to see pictures too, sounds sweet.

I have an 05 and i put 20" on it but I got them used so they came with tires...the tires are 255/35R20.....In the frount then fit great but in the back then hit when i hit bumps.....so i had the fenders rolled and that helped but i still cant put people in the back and on the bigger bumps they sill hit sometimes.....to have your frnders rolled just take it to a good body shop

its a 5 percent difference. the 30's sidewall height is 30 percent of the width of the tire or 225*.30 .... the 35's would be 225*.35 , or 11.25 mm increase in tire diameter.

Aha. That makes sense.

And this reminded me, I saw a 90-93 style Accord today that had 15s with 40 series tires, parked at Advance Auto Parts. I had to go get carb cleaner, and I saw that *beautiful automobile* sitting outside. Who the hell puts 15s and 40 series tires on an Accord? Even my 17s have 45 series lol.

with 20's and the rubber band tires that go with it, I would not want to live anywhere where there is even the slightest bump in the pavement as it would ride extremely harsh....tires absorb alot of the road bumps through the sidewall and help smooth out the ride........

I live in NJ and don't believe the hype. I've had many different sets of wheel/tire combos on my rides and I've rocked 35 series 20's and they aren't as bad as most say. My other accord was slammed (around 3.5") and I was rollin on 17's with 45's and it rode horrible. Swapped the coilovers for racing springs which lifted my car about .75" and it rode like a dream. If you're rollin on cheaper coilovers and can deal with it, 35 series tires are no worse. I'm passed that race everyone on the road phase. Throwin DUBS on to keep it clean and ride slow.
