92 accord rims fit on an 01 accord?
i know this is a bit backwards, but i just put new tires on my 01 and it was in an accident. i'm looking at an 01 that will need tires for safety. the insurance company will give me jack for my 92, so i thought i could offset the cost a bit if the wheels could be changed over. (i could then go to the junk yard to get rims for the 92 and save the alloys for summer tires later.
thanks!!

RE: 92 accord rims fit on an 01 accord?
I'm going to go out on a limb here, I believe the 01 has five lug rims right? And i'm pretty sure that the 92 has 4 lug. Answer: No. Not going to work.
And after reading your post again, I'm not quite sure I understand the background story. The 01 was in an accident after getting new tires. Now are the tires on it bad, were they damaged in the accident? Why is the insurance company giving you money for your 92?
Unless.....you mean you just put new tires on your 92. It was in an accident but the tires are fine. You're looking at an 01 to buy, but it'll need new tires to replace the bald ones. Will the 92 wheels, not tires, fit on the 01 because the insurance company isn't going to give you hardly anything for your 92 so you might as well keep it and take the rims off and put them on.
If this is the case we need more information. More than likely, the rims aren't going to fit, see first paragraph. Second, are your 92 wheels aftermarket? If so, what size? What size rims are on the 01? If your 92 wheels are aftermarket and big enough, the TIRES might be able to be swapped if they're the same rim diameter. But, (back me up here 01 owners) I think the smallest rim that came on an 01 was 17" Which is bigger than what was offered on 92's. 15 and 16's if I remember correctly.
SOOOOO, we need more info.

RE: 92 accord rims fit on an 01 accord?
my 92 was in the accident. i believe it has 14" rims, but the tires are less than 1 year and have some crazy milage rating, like 80 000 miles (goodyear assurance tripletread). both the 92 and the 01 are 4cy 4doors. i'll be looking at the car tonight, but from the pictures off autotrader, they both have 4 bolt rims. the 92's rims are the factory metal with hubs. (sorry guys, i'm not a tuner or a racer, just a guy with 4 kids who needs a reliable 2nd vehicle for not too much $$.
i wonder how far out the 14" wheels and tires would be height wise compared to the 01's 15"ers... guess i'll pull out the tape measure.
