Default 99 accord brake rotor and shoes

Hi

I am planning to have my brake rotor and shoes changed this weekend. I am noticing that as soon as I apply brakes the whole car starts vibrating. Initially it was just the stearing wheel but i guess the rotors have gone really bad now and its making the whole car vibrate even when applied at low speeds.

I was wondering if I could get some expert advice on this as to which brand rotors and shoes would be the best to go and buy.

I have a 99 honda accord EX 4 cyl.

Any help would be appreciated

Seth

Parts store rotors and pads should be fine for regular driving. It sounds more like you warped the rotors by braking hard from high speeds.

If you really want a nicer than OEM setup without the performance aspect, some Brembo blank rotors and decent aftermarket or OEM pads would go great together (and probably last longer than OEM).

Thanks a lot for your instant response. I am really a rookie here and dont understand all the brand names youve mentioned.

Parts store : is this a brand which you've suggested ?

How expensive would the brembo blank rotors be from the normal ones (OEMs) I would buy ?

Thanks again

No, just the no name ones from a parts store like Checker, O'Reilly, AutoZone, etc.

The Brembos would likely be cheaper than OEM rotors.

Check out our sponsor, TASauto.com, they have a few rotor and pad kits that should perform well. Not trying to advertise for them, but I've bought a lot of stuff from them and it's all been really good with great service!
