Default Handling issues with bigger rims??

Hi i am thinking of putting some 17" to replace my current 15"....
i know some have done it over here, is there any handling issues?? what tyre size / width would be best??

i am concerned about that as i changed my 15" steel for 18" alloy on my previous mazda3 and it had serious handling issues...

thanks

The only handling issues I've had from increasing tire width and wheel size are good ones... 17" is a pretty optimal wheel size for minimal sidewall rolling and comfort.

Far better response too.

I'm not sure if the UK Accord used the same stock tires (195/65-R15)?
If so I guess maybe 215/45-R17 or 225/45-R17.

How smooth are your roads? Any worries about potholes?

195/60-15 is a bit smaller than the USA size, so based on outside tread diameter...
205/45-17 is 0.2% bigger than UK stock.
215/45-17 is 1.7% bigger.
225/45-17 is 3.1% bigger.

I went from 16(winter) to 19(summer). besides the bigger rim you will handle better but bigger rims weight more so you'll notice it takes a bit longer to break and accelerate. but you gt use to it pretty quick and it doesnt become an issue

bigger rims dont necesserily mean better handling...in this case...yes switchin to the larger ones would result in pretty nice handling especially over stock
