Need Some New Rims
Hey all...first time poster here.. I am at heart and sould a Ford guy, but I got a 2001 Accord a few years ago as a Daily driver. Looking at some nice aftermarket rims that are not "Racey" ...want something more classy looking. My daughter is going to be driving this as her first car. The stock ones are just all beat up. It looks like OEM ones are very expensive.. Any suggestions?
Want to keep it at about $500 total, and I will be open to using newer Honda rims if available, but Im not sure what year rims will fit on my 2001. It is a V6 with 5-lugs.
Thanks all
RC

If you want to check Honda factory wheels from a junkyard, 1998 and newer will bolt up. The 1998-2002 4-cyl Accords have 4-lug wheels so those will be easy for you to see. ALL accords from 2003 have the same bolt pattern.
Some Accords in the last couple years might have wider wheels with more risk of something rubbing against fenders or shocks.
For new rims, check out Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels (they're a sponsor of this site).
Put in the car's information, and their website will only show rims that fit properly.
With $500, you're probably not including tires??? If I were you, I'd wait til the tires are worn out then get a tire/rim package.

Tires wont be bad for awhile.
I talked to my neighbor who sells parts for the Honda dealer. He advised me to stay away from aftermarkte rims for the car..only OEM wheels.
Reason: he said the after market ones are hub-centric, but the factories are lug-centric, and that there will be problems with wheel vibration.
Anyone confirm or deny this?
Thanks

For all the Honda's I've owned; the factory wheels were hub-centric.

All of those factory wheels use spherical-seat lugs. Aftermarket wheels FREQUENTLY use conical lugs. All you have to do is use the proper lug nuts that belong with the wheel. If you get wheels that take conical lugs, simply keep a set of the original spherical lugs in the trunk so you can use em with the spare tire.
OTOH, the factory wheels ARE really good quality. They're better than the cheap-end of the TireRack spectrum.

NO...still trying to decide..too much confusing info..dont know WHO to believe. For now just took some fine steel wool and cleaned off the stockers..they look "clean" now, but have some nicks around the edges and where the wheel weights were.
