Default TIRES AND WHEEL size options 2006 SE

I just bought a 2006 SE - 4cylinder auto.
Stock size is 16 rims with 205/60/16 tires.
Can I use a 15 inch wheel for winter and what size tires would be correct.?
How do I find out if some rims that I already have can be safely used on the accord?

All responses appreciated.

Yes, you can go with 15's. The Accord VP comes standard with 15" rims, and I believe tirerack.com sells 15" rims with snow tires as a winter package.

The correct tire size for a 15" wheel would be 205/60R15 with the same load rating, which I believe is 89.

The rims you have... they must have a 4x114.4mm or 5x114.4mm lug pattern (4 or 5 lug) to work, and a fairly high offset. Stock Honda wheels run about a +55mm offset, but you can get away with about +38mm on a 8" wide wheel.

I have a 2005 Accord LX. What size wheels do I have and should I go one size larger and get wheels as I need tires?

A little late but just wanted to add that the 15" tire size for the 7th gen is 195/65/15. There are a lot more options in that size and theyre a whole lot cheaper too. Might want to check out tires in that size if youre still looking.

2003 LX stock tires are 205/65-15 while stock 2003 DX had 195/65-15.

So... stock sizes vary a little depending on which model Accord. I don't know whether they re-program anything for the different tire size, but I doubt it. Nothing in the '03-'06 Helm manual about anything like that.

I asked my dealer if they could adjust something or change maybe a spedo gear if I went to a bigger tire, even one of the bigger sizes offered on other Accords and he said there is nothing they can do. Id just have to live with the spedo being off.
